    Where will you be working?

    As an organisation, there is little we don’t do and plenty to get involved in. Our Group Support roles are vital in making sure we can help over 11,000 people deliver essential infrastructure seamlessly across water, energy, transport and telecom.

    The Procurement function is undergoing an exciting transformation journey, deploying best in class processes, ensuring an innovative, reliable and cost-efficient supply chain that can grow with M Group to support delivery of our strategy.

    You’ll work closely with the Head of Procurement, Group Procurement, and divisional teams to identify and deliver savings opportunities. We’ll count on you to lead sourcing activity, manage supplier relationships, and turn business needs into practical procurement plans. You’ll embed best practice, drive continuous improvement, and support our ESG goals.

    The role requires attendance at the Warrington office 1–2 days per week; hybrid working for remaining days.

    What will you be doing?

    • You'll lead the charge on identifying and delivering procurement savings across the division.
    • You'll run sourcing and negotiation activities to secure great commercial terms and reliable service.
    • You'll build strong supplier relationships and take action when performance slips.
    • You'll work with stakeholders to define needs and keep procurement initiatives on track.
    • We'll count on you to ensure smooth handovers and supplier management post-contract.
    • You'll manage risks to keep supply flowing and operations steady.
    • Improve processes and reporting to boost efficiency and visibility.
    • Champion sustainable procurement and help us hit our ESG goals.
    • Collaborate across the business to drive buy-in and deliver results.

    What you’ll bring

    You’ll have solid procurement experience and a track record of delivering savings and driving efficiency. You’ll be confident in sourcing, negotiating, managing contracts, and working with suppliers to get the best outcomes. You’ll work closely with stakeholders—right up to executive level—so strong influencing and communication skills are key. We’ll look to you to bring practical knowledge of the full procurement lifecycle, supplier performance, and commercial risk management, and to collaborate with operational teams to make things happen.

    Ideally, you’ll have a procurement qualification like MCIPS, experience with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle, and a degree-level education. If you’ve worked in project-based or engineering-led environments and know how to embed sustainability and ESG into procurement decisions, that’s a real plus.
