  • Right across infrastructure, there’s a requirement to not only maintain, but also renew and reimagine. Whatever stage you’re at in your career, with us you’ll have an opportunity to grow and develop. Delivering essential infrastructure services for life, while being safety first, and client and customer centric in a friendly, fun and respectful environment where you are encouraged to thrive.

    Where will you be working?

As an organisation, there is little we don’t do and plenty to get involved in. Our Group Support roles are vital in making sure we can help over 11,000 people deliver essential infrastructure seamlessly across water, energy, transport and telecom.

The Procurement function is undergoing an exciting transformation journey, deploying best in class processes, ensuring an innovative, reliable and cost-efficient supply chain that can grow with M Group to support delivery of our strategy.

Want to come and be a part of it?

You’ll report to the Head of Procurement and work closely with Group and divisional teams to lead multi-category savings programmes and support ERP integration. We’ll count on you to manage supplier relationships, lead sourcing activity, and turn business needs into practical procurement plans. You’ll embed best practices, drive continuous improvement, and help deliver on our ESG commitments.

The role requires attendance at the Warrington office 1–2 days per week; hybrid working for remaining days.

    What will you be doing?

    • You'll lead strategic sourcing programmes and deliver measurable savings across multiple categories.
    • You'll design and negotiate complex contracts to secure strong commercial terms and dependable service.
    • Build and manage supplier relationships, ensuring performance and continuity of supply.
    • Support the Head of Procurement with governance, capability building, and digital transformation.
    • Help the team adopt new ways of working ahead of ERP integration.
    • You'll work with stakeholders to define requirements and keep procurement plans moving.
    • Identify and manage supply, commercial, and regulatory risks.
    • You'll improve processes, tools, and reporting to boost efficiency and visibility.
    • Champion sustainable procurement and contribute to ESG goals.
    • Collaborate across the business to drive buy-in and deliver procurement success.

    What you’ll bring

You'll bring proven procurement experience and a strong track record of delivering savings and driving efficiency. You'll be confident in sourcing, supplier selection, negotiation, and contract management, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels—including senior and executive teams. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential, along with practical knowledge of the procurement lifecycle, supplier performance management, and commercial risk mitigation. Experience working with operational procurement and cross-functional teams will also help you hit the ground running.

Ideally, you'll hold a procurement qualification such as MCIPS and have experience working in project-based or engineering-led environments. Familiarity with ERP systems like SAP or Oracle, a degree-level education, and a passion for embedding sustainability and ESG principles into procurement decisions would be a real advantage.
