    Where will you be working?

    At M Group Energy we’re enabling the energy essential to support our lives. We provide an end-to-end service, delivering solutions in electricity transmission, distribution, renewable energy, EV, metering and home decarbonisation. This role will be within our Distribution and Connections division. As one of the largest Independent Connection Providers (ICP’s) in the UK, we support distribution network operations across infrastructure.

    Our team installs and maintains distribution networks and ensures reliable connections for customers. carrying out electrical planned work, customer connections and network reinforcement.

    Looking to kick‑start your career in estimating? We’re looking for a Trainee Estimator to join our friendly and supportive Estimating Team. This is a great opportunity if you're early in your career, enjoy problem‑solving, and want to learn how projects are costed, scoped, and brought to life.

    What you’ll be doing

    You don’t need to come in as an expert - we’ll teach you. Your role will include:

    • Supporting the team in pulling together accurate project estimates.
    • Joining site visits to learn how different sites work and what each project needs.
    • Helping break down tasks, materials, and resource requirements.
    • Assisting with preparing quotations and bid documents.
    • Speaking with suppliers and subcontractors to gather pricing.
    • Attending tender review meetings and site sessions with the team.
    • Supporting handovers to the delivery team so projects start smoothly.
    • Keeping records and documents up to date.

    You’ll report to the Estimating Manager, and you’ll also have a Mentor who will guide you day‑to‑day as you build your confidence and skills.

     

    What you’ll bring?

    You don’t need loads of experience - just the right attitude:

    • Degree-level education (or equivalent).
    • Comfortable using Microsoft Office.
    • Good communication skills and the ability to work well with others.
    • Self‑motivated and able to manage your time.
    • Full driving licence (you’ll join the team on site visits).
