As we continue to grow, we're looking for an experienced, Senior Design Engineer to join our Rail asset Management team in our Canning Town Office - E16 4TL this is a hybrid role requiring a day or two in the office Warwick
What you will you be doing?
Acting as the Senior Design Engineer for customer’s projects, these will be PA/PAVA design solutions, and you will be responsible for undertaking all technical aspects of projects. This will include managing the production of design packages for minor and major works for new and existing system upgrades across railways stations, ensuring all works are conducted to the correct standard, working with project management teams to scope for new works and production of quotations.
Our customers include Transport for London, Network Rail and a host of Train Operating Companies. Reporting to the Lead Design Engineer the senior design engineer will be responsible for delivering project upgrade works across Transport for London and Network rail infrastructure.
What you will be doing?
- Manage and produce designs – PA/PAVA Solutions within a Rail environment.
- Perform reviews to verify designs are compliant to contract technical requirements.
- Ensure designs are risk assessed in accordance with CDM obligations.
- Ensure designs are fully integrated with other disciplines.
- Manage and produce test documentation to validate the implemented designs.
- Provide technical support to implementation teams.
- Produce as-built documentation and associated test results.
- Report against programme to relevant Project Manager.
- Drive efficiencies in repeated work scopes through design re-use.
- Implement robust processes that aim to eliminate telent incurred re-work costs in all delivery phases.
- Support the evolution of technical support solutions across customer estates, integrating emerging technologies to enhance service delivery
- Build and support reference systems through FAT and on-site implementation
What will you bring?
You will have a strong background in System design, integration and testing for the following technologies.
- PA/PAVA Design experience - Public Address, Voice Alarm and Induction Loops – these are our key focus area for this role.
- Station Management Systems
- Security CCTV (Analogue and IP)
- Customer Information Systems and Displays
- Passenger Help Points
- Data Networks
- OPO/TtT CCTV System
- Proven rail industry experience and leadership in engineering delivery
