Where will you be working?
We help our clients safeguard the water supply, improve environmental performance and manage demand for future generations. We enhance and extend asset life, ensuring compliance with water quality and environmental standards. We’re problem solvers with over 140 years of combined experience in engineering and infrastructure.
This role will be within our MEICA and capital maintenance team. Our Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control & Automation (MEICA) experts offer a one-stop solution, including ongoing operation and maintenance services.
This role will be within our IOS Framework for Anglian Water, supporting the operations and completing remedial works over the Essex Suffolk and Cambridge Area

As the apprentice you will learn to carryout:
This 48-month programme will develop your practical, technical and soft-skills, with Health & Safety at the heart of everything you do. On successful completion of your apprenticeship, you will gain a Installation and Maintenance Electrician Level 3 qualification and a permanent, long-term career with M Group Water!
- You’ll learn to work in compliance with industry, British, International, and customer standards.
- We’ll teach you how to read, understand, and interpret relevant drawings, schedules, and schematics.
- You’ll be taught to order and collect the correct components for work activities.
- You’ll learn how to complete risk assessments, identify and report potential hazards and near misses.
- You’ll learn how to test and inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components.
- We’ll teach you to diagnose and solve malfunctioning systems using test equipment and hand tools.
- We’ll teach you to produce detailed reports of work completed in line with industry and company requirements.
- You’ll respond promptly to faults and rectify where possible.
- Safety is our licence to operate! You’ll champion health and safety standards to ensure a safe working environment.
What you’ll bring
- Be at least 18 years of age at the time the apprenticeship program commences
- Valid UK driving licence
- Have the right to work in the UK
- GCSEs grades 4-9 including maths and English, or Level 2 Functional Skills Equivalent.
- Be able to travel to your depot or work site every day, potentially at unsocial hours
- Be prepared to travel to undertake day or block release training and development sessions.
- Demonstrate an interest and enthusiasm to work outdoors
- Possess a high degree of manual dexterity demonstrated through the use of hand tools
- As the role involves manual labour, including lifting, bending, working outdoors in various weather conditions, and required to walk and stand on uneven ground, we’ll need you to have a level of fitness which will allow you to complete tasks safely.
- You must also be able to work within a confined space, without restriction
