Reporting to the Head of Technology Assets & Value, the Software Asset Manager will establish and lead Software Asset Management (SAM) across M Group Technology. You will be responsible for governing software assets throughout their lifecycle, ensuring effective management of licences, renewals, usage, compliance, costs and supplier relationships.
Working closely with Technology, Finance, Procurement, suppliers and managed service providers, you will provide trusted insight into software assets, enabling informed decision-making, reducing risk, and driving value across the organisation. You will play a key role in improving software governance, audit readiness and commercial performance while supporting wider Technology transformation initiatives.
Want to come and be a part of it?
What will you be doing?
Lead and continuously develop Software Asset Management practices across M Group, establishing standards, controls and governance that ensure software assets are effectively managed from acquisition through to retirement. You'll create a robust SAM framework that improves compliance, accountability and operational efficiency across the organisation.
Take ownership of software licensing, compliance and audit readiness by maintaining accurate licence positions, reconciling entitlement and usage data, identifying potential risks, and coordinating remediation activities. You'll ensure the business is well-prepared for audits while reducing both commercial and compliance exposure.
Drive software optimisation and value realisation by identifying opportunities for licence harvesting, rationalisation and cost reduction. You'll work with stakeholders across Technology, Procurement and Finance to maximise the value of software investments, manage demand effectively, and deliver measurable savings and cost avoidance.
Build strong relationships with suppliers, stakeholders and service partners while leading software renewal and contract management activities.
